The new FSTA Direct™ search interface, version 2, is all set for release on May 19th! Users can expect three new ways to search – Easy, Guided and Advanced. These options are designed to make it really easy for beginnners to search quickly, and also to guide new users in the setting up of more complex searches. Advanced search will be easier to use and existing saved searches will be retained.
Using version 2, it will be more straightforward to combine searches and also to set limits on search results. Within the Results page users will be able to sort results, search within results easily, and also see numbered groupings of results by keywords, publication year, source, and document type.
Version 2 also features a new and improved Help, a brand new login page highlighting the latest news and announcements and the option to use Athens authentication. As well as email alerts, users will be able to set up RSS feeds of search results, allowing them to easily keep up-to-date with new records of interest. With so many new improvements, it’s going to be a great year for FSTA Direct users!
